Themes in "The Fall of the House of Usher"
A theme is a statement of meaning which the author portrays in a literary work. What do you think is the theme of this story and why? What parts of the texts suggest that this might be the theme?

The theme of The Fall House of Usher is gothic. Gothic is a style usually portrayed by fantastic tales dealing with horror, despair, the grotesque and other "dark" subjects. You see this through out Poe's, The Fall House OF Usher because of the sister coming back to life, the killing of the brother. These thing are not normal for our socity. they are extrem acts of volience. so they fit with the gothic theme.
