Answer to Matts question

I think that it would be very unlikley for a revolution to occur today like the revolutionary war. But i think that it could happen if the following were to occur. For a revolt to happen the goverment would probably have to take away their freedom of speech and religion. Without either a person can feel like they have no meaning and are being used by the goverment. Also, without freedom of religion, people would be furious with the goverment for being forced in to beliving something they dont. But even if these events occured a revolution wouldnt occur because of technology available today that wasnt available in the 1700s. The only major thing that a goverment could do to cause a revolt would be for the goverment to start a genocide. And the majority of the country would be a different religion that the other. For example, Sudans goverment are muslims and the minorty are the Africans of Dufar. The Muslims became jealous of the Africans and became violent which led to masecres. The Africans revolted and a civil war broke out which is still occuring today. Obviously, there is only one real thing a goverment could do to make a Group of people revolt.
