In response to Matt's question

I think that a modern day revolt would be unlikely considering the government has no intention on taking the rights of American citizens. In America it is expected and almost taken for granted that we have all the rights we do, and the only way to get rid of them is for the government to become totalitarianism. Like Daniel said, the government would have to take away our freedom of speech and religion to create somewhat of a revolt. I agree totally with this because when those two things alone are taken, people would feel extremely held back and violated. The reason that it is only those two things is that most rights fall under those catagories. Such as overall belief and worship, giving your opinions, and peaceful protest. I feel that if that were the case, Americans would lash out and start a revolutionary war to gain back their rights. So i feel that it would be very difficult to have another revolt in America without many key things happening. But even if that all did happen, after evreything we would lose, we still would have at least one right: to remain silent.
