When the question “why can’t peace seem to exist when a king is in control” is posed many answers can be given but in my eyes there is one answer that can really summarize the lack of peace that is present when a king is in power. From the day a king is born into royalty he is constantly told he is better than his peers solely based on who his father was. Corrupt thoughts such as these that are put into an impressionable young mans head could mentally ruin him for life, making him power hungry, and over prideful. When a leader has this same mindset it is almost inevitable that he will make many outlandish decisions that he will feel are not only the best thing for him but for his country as well (because his pride will not allow him to believe that he is wrong). This is exactly what the king of England succeeded in doing. The king of England had all Americans begging to succeed, due to his ridiculous taxes, as well as other bizarre laws that he created due to his over prideful ways. Over Prideful ways that made him think that he could do no wrong no matter how many people complained. “America will never be happy till she gets clear of foreign domination” (Thomas Paine). To summarize, the king of England made many faulty decisions due to an extreme amount of pride, decisions threw America into a state of confusion and extreme rage, thus allowing no room for peace between the two countries of Britain and the U.S.A.
